Art 4 Concentration
My concentration series of home renderings was driven by my fascination for houses and the relationships of those who reside within. Just as I am enthralled with the exterior, I am also extremely interested with the interior decoration and design of the houses. I chose to draw the exterior of the houses for metaphorical purposes. Several pieces in my series are that of seemingly perfect suburban homes. Although these homes may seem whole and well maintained on the outside, the inside is a mystery. The case of the internal home is always different, sometimes even broken. In my head, the idea of the word “home” is exaggerated. We dream of having the perfect life and the perfect home but it usually cannot be fulfilled.
My drawings of the homes are two-dimensional and are one point perspective. Various elements of art such as space and line are shown within the drawings. In one of my pieces, House No. 6, I tried to incorporate clean lines mixed with textures. Neat lines are used throughout each drawing, which communicates an idealized home, the idea that many houses appears untouched and well kept on the outside. I used black permanent marker for the lines of the houses. Afterward, I went back, and using a black colored pencil, created value and details like in pieces such as House No. 9, House No. 3, etc. The renderings I created were not done without research on different types of homes. Eventually, I settled with the style of a Modern Home because of complexity within simplicity, which is often the case for many lives. Hopefully, the styles of houses I have drawn reflect a specific design and my personality and my attachment to orderliness. By drawing this style of home, I want people when they see my art to be able to relate and feel their own emotions toward their own home through my pieces.

Art 2 Concentration
I chose to do a series about clothes and accessories. There are many different types of clothes and they play such a huge part in our everyday life. I wanted to represent how much we can take clothes for granted by always wanting what we can't have.
